The illustrious Humber Park is open to all, free of cost, and is located between Mimico on the west and the Humber River on the east. It juts into Lake Ontario and is a gorgeous spot to take a walk, have a picnic, or let your dog run free in the doggy-designated area. And if you’re a bird watcher, you’re likely to enjoy a variety of shorebirds, ducks, and waterfowl. You can also loop around to the park’s east end to see the park’s butterfly habitat and ecological restoration project, or for an unforgettable hiking experience in any season. A quaint pedestrian bridge runs across Mimico Creek. Humber Bay Promenade will lead you to the loveliest gazebo ever, overlooking the lake. Also a fantastic place to catch a sunrise.
The park is also home to several fun and upscale yacht clubs, including the Mimico Cruising Club, with its decked out clubhouse and grounds, huge fairways, and outstanding facilities. The club hosts social activities, races, regional competitions, and cruises. If this sails your boat, also check out the Etobicoke Yacht Club.
And if you just want to be out on the water and get outta dodge for a while, Toronto PWC can make all your splashy summer fantasies come true. They offer Seadoo tours and rentals, support and service for towing, kite boarding, paddle boarding, endurance swimming, and rowing events, among many other things. Check out the 66th annual Canadian International Air Show this September, complete with jets, bombers, trick and stunt planes, historical planes and more!
