Hamilton is a great place to be a kid. So for all the families looking to share in the cheer by getting out and about this holiday season, you don’t have to go very far.
The Hamilton Children Museum’s Wednesday Wigglers Rubber Ducky Day takes place every Wednesday starting January 11th. Families with children aged 0-4 can enjoy semi-structured preschool programming and a visit to the museum. There will be interactive songs, activities, story-time, sensory play, and a craft with a different theme every week. This is a great opportunity to bond with your little ones in a fun, uplifting, and colourful environment with other parents and toddlers.
McQuesten’s Childhood Christmas at Whitehern Historic House & Garden runs from
November 19th to Dec 31st. A costumed interpreter offers a guided tour of the incredible heritage house, complete with original toys and decorations from the 1850s. It contains elements from many time periods – Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian.
If you could use a good escape, but don’t have much time to spare, this one’s for you—or your kids! TheCrux.ca in Hamilton is suitable for ages 8 to 77! Your group gets locked in a room of puzzles that must be solved in order to find the key that unlocks the door. Only 20% of people solve the puzzle within the one-hour limit. It is recommended that children 10 years of age or older play without adults in the room.
